Request certificates from the Municipality of Cuneo
The City of Cuneo splits civil status and registry across different pages: extracts and full copies via the digital one-stop shop (SPID/CIE/CNS) or by appointment, and registry certificates also via ANPR or protocol. How do you request a certificate from the Municipality of Cuneo?
The “Certificati di Stato Civile” sheet of the Municipality of Cuneo (updated December 2025) covers certificates, summary extracts and full copies of birth, marriage, civil unions and death for events that occurred or were registered in Cuneo. Channels: a counter appointment (booking portal or Sportello Unico del Cittadino) or, with CIE/SPID/CNS, the digital one-stop shop. The civil-status service is described as free of charge. At the counter the Comune speaks of immediate issue with an appointment; via the digital desk, 5 working days. For registry certificates, the sister sheet adds ANPR and sending to ufficio.protocollo@comune.cuneo.it or PEC protocollo.comune.cuneo@legalmail.it with the form, payment if due, and ID. The Comune notes that documents for an Italian public body must be replaced by a self-declaration, and that legalisation for use abroad is done at the Prefecture of Cuneo.
Can it be requested online?
Yes, via the digital one-stop shop for civil status (digital ID) and via ANPR for registry certificates. It is not an instant PDF for every extract: the Comune publishes 5 working days on the digital channel. A full copy requires a concrete legal interest, unless the law provides otherwise. A birth extract with parents' details or the multilingual form, according to the same sheet, is issued to the holder (or guardian/proxy).
What if you live outside Italy?
Without SPID the digital desk does not apply; what remains is an appointment (of little use from abroad) or the registry protocol. The Comune notes that, for use abroad requiring legalisation, you then go to the Prefecture of Cuneo. The digital desk's birth-certificate sheet also cites a six-month legal time limit for certain citizenship certificates requested by people who do not hold Italian citizenship.
