Request certificates from the Municipality of Turin
Turin publishes very specific date thresholds: ANPR for certain acts drawn up from 28 October 2025, other online channels for civil-status acts between 1971 and October 2025, and the archive for material before 1971 or before November 1989 in historical registry records. How do you request a certificate from the Municipality of Torino?
The official “Richiedere un certificato” page of the City of Turin (updated August 2026) splits channels as follows: ANPR, with SPID/CIE/CNS, for current registry certificates and for certificates/extracts/full copies of birth, marriage and civil union for acts drawn up in Turin from 28 October 2025. A local online service covers, among others, civil-status acts from 1 January 1971 to 27 October 2025 and births of people still resident in Turin even if born before 1971. Ordinary email: posta.servizicivici@comune.torino.it; PEC: servizi.civici@cert.comune.torino.it. Historical registry certificates before 1 November 1989 go to cert.storici@comune.torino.it. There are also counters (morning, Monday–Friday) and affiliated newsstands for some types. An ID copy is required; the Comune does not accept PEC sent to an ordinary mailbox.
Can it be requested online?
Yes, but the right channel depends on the date of the act. Turin also states that current registry certificates (residence, household, citizenship, unmarried status, existence in life) and certain extracts from 28/10/2025 are requested exclusively via ANPR. Civil-status certifications, according to the same page, are exempt from stamp duty and secretarial fees.
What if you live outside Italy?
Email or PEC with the form and ID, or postal delivery (the Comune lists a different postage reimbursement for Italy and abroad). Without SPID you cannot use ANPR or the local online service. Full copies, acts before 1971 and historical registry records before 1989 usually need a booking and the times the Comune publishes (indicative: 20 working days at the counter for certain civil-status items; 60 days for pre-1989 historical records; 30 days for dispatch).
